Aaron has been employed as a staff interpreter at NTID at RIT since 1977, where he has held the titles of Interpreter, Liaison Interpreter, Coordinator of Interpreting, Manager, and Senior Interpreter. He is also employed as an interpreter at the U of R Medical Center and interprets on a freelance basis for a number of agencies. He has served on the boards of national, state, and local interpreting organizations.
Aaron holds a B.S. in Deaf Education from Penn State University and interpreting certification from the RID, Inc. He has a younger deaf brother who graduated from the Pennsylvania State Oral School (SSSD). Despite this background, Aaron didn't learn Sign Language or interact with the Deaf Community in any meaningful way until the age of 26.
